Prayer for today:  for women of Zambia -- ministers, doctors, lawyers, mothers, nurses, teachers, business women, politicians.



Saturday morning 8:00 the Women's Christian Fellowship meets at Mindolo United Church of Zambia, located directly beyond the UCZ University campus.  We gather under an awning on a raised platform in between the old church and the new church.  The sound of construction workers provides a steady backdrop to our business and worship.

Bible Study leader, Mrs Catherine Simwanda, starts with prayer, then guides us through a set of discussion questions.  Today's theme, 'The life we are called to is a life of faith,' has us examining Job 23:11-12, Hebrews 11:1 and Isaiah 59:21.

When several churches of Zambia united in 1965 (Methodist, Congregational & Presbyterian), the women's organization united, also, and took the uniform of the Methodist church -- red blouse with white buttons and collar and a black skirt.  I wear my uniform which I received in 1985 from the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa -- white blouse, black skirt and a sky-blue rosette and badge.
